How ACCET Delivers Results That Benefit America

ACCET hosts Kosovo's first-ever national roundtable on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in counter-terrorism and national security

Harnessing AI to Protect America’s Security, Strength, and Prosperity

In Kosovo, the American Center for Combating Extremism and Terrorism (ACCET) led the country’s first-ever summit on artificial intelligence (AI) in counterterrorism, bringing together leaders from the EU, UN, and private sector. By leveraging AI to detect terrorist activity and prevent its misuse, ACCET strengthens America’s national security by addressing threats before they reach U.S. borders.

The summit explored AI’s potential to detect terrorist activity, track financial transactions linked to extremism, and secure critical infrastructure. By fostering these capabilities in partner nations like Kosovo, ACCET not only strengthens America’s security alliances but also ensures the responsible and ethical application of technology that aligns with U.S. values.

Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, emphasized the importance of developing robust strategies to combat terrorism and cyber threats. His recognition of AI’s role in these efforts underscores how U.S.-led expertise can drive global adoption of advanced tools that prevent instability, protecting American communities from ripple effects.

Scott Bates, former Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S. House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee, highlighted the critical importance of partnerships between governments and the private sector in developing strategies to combat emerging threats. Such collaboration reinforces America’s leadership in creating international policies and frameworks that enhance security worldwide.

By facilitating discussions with representatives from the EU, UN, Kosovo’s government, and private industry, ACCET demonstrated how fostering global partnerships and advancing cutting-edge solutions solidifies America’s influence and ensures a safer, more stable world.

“When we lead the world in innovation and collaboration, we don’t just prevent threats—we ensure America remains secure, resilient, and positioned to prosper.”
— Dr. Dwaine Lee, Vice President, Global Programs

This summit exemplifies ACCET’s broader mission to protect U.S. national security by fostering resilience abroad, strengthening international partnerships, and ensuring that technological advancements serve the interests of safety, stability, and prosperity for all.

Paving Albania’s Path to EU Integration: Strengthening America’s Allies

ACCET’s leadership in Albania has fortified one of America’s strategic partnerships in Europe, making the region more stable and secure. By conducting critical assessments and election observation missions, ACCET helped Albania adopt EU standards on political accountability and transparency, strengthening democratic governance and reducing corruption. These efforts foster long-term stability, ensuring that Albania remains aligned with U.S. and EU values of freedom, justice, and transparency.

A stable and democratic Albania serves as a key ally for the United States, supporting broader regional security and countering malign influence from adversaries. By reinforcing governance in emerging democracies, ACCET strengthens America’s global leadership and creates a safer, more predictable international environment that benefits U.S. security and prosperity.

Rebuilding Communities in Syria: Securing America by Addressing Global Instability

ACCET’s work in Syria directly strengthens America’s safety by tackling the root causes of extremism in a volatile region. Through comprehensive reintegration programs for Al-Hol camp returnees, ACCET fostered social cohesion among returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities. By working with local tribal leaders, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders, ACCET reduced the conditions that fuel radicalization and instability.

Stabilizing post-conflict environments like Syria not only curbs the spread of extremist ideologies but also limits their ability to disrupt U.S. national security. By creating sustainable peace in one of the world’s most challenging regions, ACCET ensures that threats abroad do not escalate to endanger American interests or communities.

Fortifying Kenya’s Digital Defenses: Protecting America in the Cyber Age

ACCET’s work in Kenya’s cybersecurity sector safeguards America by addressing the global nature of cyber threats. Through a comprehensive Gap Analysis of Kenya’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, ACCET developed frameworks for Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP), cybercrime management, and inter-agency cooperation. These efforts protect vital digital systems in a region increasingly targeted by international cybercriminals and extremist networks.

By strengthening Kenya’s digital defenses, ACCET creates a more resilient global cyber ecosystem that prevents attacks from reaching U.S. networks and infrastructure. Cybersecurity is a shared challenge, and ACCET’s initiatives ensure that vulnerabilities abroad do not compromise American businesses, government operations, or critical infrastructure. This work directly supports U.S. national security and economic stability in an increasingly interconnected world.

Partner with us.

By addressing the root causes of extremism, advancing global stability, and fostering economic growth, ACCET protects American interests and creates a secure, thriving future. Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America.
